I feel like I know the obvious answers would be work by Kazuo Ishiguro, Barbara Kingsolver, etc. that I’ve seen on lists like these. There are the obvious and often mentioned ones and others that are unsung and have flown under the radar but deserve some notice. I’m actually looking for both and wondering what other readers think will end up on a classics list one day.

Cloud Cuckoo Land.
What a masterpiece.
I think Fredrik Backman has a real shot at becoming a future classic author, not in the traditional literary sense, but because of how universally his stories connect. He may not be labelled a “classic” writer anytime soon, but I wouldn’t be surprised if his work quietly earns that place over time.
