I would like a book that focuses on the absurdity of the mundane specifically in regards to American culture. A book that cuts through the facade of modern American life and pokes holes at the things we accept as standard within the culture such as golf courses in the desert, performative liberalism without meaningful action, sports gambling at the touch of a button, etc. I am hoping to find something that capture the zeitgeist of our current era akin to Fear and Loathing or Infinite Jest.
