Hi, I’m looking for novels that contain representations of LGBTQ+ Christian characters or characters who are coded as Christian. In the case of the latter, think of authors like Lewis and Tolkien who very obviously were heavily influenced by their faith, putting literal or allegorical representations in their works. Main cast and heavy thematic relevance preferred. I’ve read works by some YA authors like Anna-Marie McLemore and Aiden Thomas who have some characters and themes in some of their respective works that could heavily be understood as folk Catholics.

I’ve read a lot lately with characters who are LGBTQ+ and Jewish or coded as such, so I’m really interested in seeing what else is available. Any age range is welcome, though please recommend English-language titles or translations. I don’t speak anything else fluently enough. Characters can be any denomination, I don’t have any preferences there. Classics, contemporary, throw anything at me. Thank you! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I didn’t like the book, but at least one character in The Ace Agenda is a lgbtq christan. It’s a retelling of my best friends wedding but where Jules and Michael are both ace.

Icarus by K. Acrum is a very loose ya greek mythology retelling set in modern day. The main character is technically catholic but as with everything else it’s very weird and unique.
