i’ve been trying to find a book like this for SO long and after reaching my breaking point with the last book i tried, i'm finally turning to the reddit gods. pls help 😭
i really love the dynamic in series like Crave and Twilight where the love interest's allure is the mystery around him, that he’s not quite normal and there’s something off/strange about him (in a good way). it's so fun when the FMC slowly uncovers the mystery and it flips her world / everything shes ever known upside down.
i HATE when the MMC’s entire personality is just “tall, ripped, huge 🍆.” like i genuinely don’t care for that or the weird mafia romance dynamic that seems to be so popular. i need a mutual obsession/possessiveness but in a respective way (just like Edward and Jaxon), crazy intense yearning and sexual tension, and the push-pull / chasing each other all the time. while i love the stories of Crave and Twilight, the writing and plot feel a bit too juvenile for me. i'm craving something more grown up and a teeny bit more realistic.
basically i’m looking for intense romance + spice, a mysterious vampire/inhuman MMC, a relatable FMC who doesn’t think/act like she’s 12, and a story set in the human world, just like Crave and Twilight.
so… does this book exist? is this an impossible ask? pls share any reccs for books similar to this, i've been pulling my hair trying to find any book that fits the bill. HELP!!!
