the title sounds stupid but hear me out! I want books where a character decides they’re going to protect another and just goes with it. not a bodyguard situation necessarily, it doesn’t need to be any official capacity. the character just is like, “they’re mine, leave them alone” and rolls with it. can be romantic or platonic, I’m open to both, but I lean towards queer romance usually

bonus points if the one being protected learns to stand up for themselves or even ends up protecting the guard dog at some point in the story:)
