Hello Everyone! Can anyone recommend a book that helped you shift your perspective and strategy towards life at a time when you felt that you were simply working hard to keep up with the rat race?
I'm in my early 30s, and I'm looking for a book that will help me change my outlook on life in general. I've spent so much of my life grappling with the notion that a person's happiness and fulfillment in life are dependent on their career, financial success, and attainment of the so-called American Dream.
I live in an apartment with my girlfriend, and we both feel like the conventional next step would be to buy a house, have a kid, start a family, and continue to develop our careers. However, neither of us are particularly excited about that path. Both of us feel that our jobs are just a means to pay the bills. We both work hard at our jobs, but neither of us feels passionate about our current career.
Any books about creating a meaningful and happy life are welcome.
