Hello everyone,
I'd love to have some book recommendations about the colonialism/conquest of the continent of America, but written by american authors (nort, middle or south)
Thank you very much,
Have a great day.

Blood and Thunder – Hamilton Sides
It’s about Kit Carson and the conquering of the West.

The Name of War by Jill LePore is pretty good for the conquest of New England. It positions King Phillip’s war (1675-1678) as a pivot point for the New England settlers between like living alongside native peoples and converting them to Christianity to exterminating or expelling native peoples.
It reads a little like an academic work lightly adapted for a general audience, not in that it is dense and difficult to read, but in that it is not narrative. Instead each chapter kind applies a different interpretative framework to the subject matter and the sources.
