Project Hail Mary is one of the worst books I’ve read that’s become as popular as it has

I read the book because of the hype around the movie and it’s actually shocking how badly written it is. The writing style is painful to read with how wooden and clumsy it is. I know the book is supposed to be just entertaining and not some masterpiece of prose but it’s beyond just functional to being downright awful. The characters have zero depth and personality and the attempts at humour are so, so bad.

I’m kinda shocked at how popular it is.
