Roman historical fiction – not military or politics focused
I am interested in reading historical fiction set in the ancient Roman Empire (though not necessarily Rome) – but with focus on everyday people rather than soldiers and politicians. Any suggestions?
Take a look at Lindsey Davis’s mystery series- Marcus Didius Falco mysteries and the Flavia Alba series. There is some politics, but a lot of it is fairly ordinary life.

First Marcus novel is The Silver Pigs
First Flavia novel is The Ides of April.
