Hello all! Last year I read The Martian by Andy Weir and enjoyed it, so when a friend recommended Project Hail Mary, also by Weir, I bought a copy immediately and read it in one day. I enjoyed it so much that my friend gifted me another sci fi – space exploration book: Pushing Ice by Alastair Reynolds. I flew through all 500 pages in a week. Now I’m sitting here, feeling the void of not having a good book to read, and looking for recs?

It doesn’t have to be sci-fi but I do enjoy stories about a big journey or adventure that get the adrenaline going a little bit. A little mystery is always good too. I much prefer Andy weir’s writing style to Reynolds, due to weir’s humor and conciseness. I still enjoyed both and found Reynolds plot to be fascinating but he rambles, has entire chapters of concepts that he never revisits or flushes out again, and it took (IMO) way too long for the plot to take off, but the overall concept was interesting enough to keep me pushing through the lulls. If you know of any better Alastair Reynolds books (where he does this less), or even books that have similar stories to these two, or author’s with a similar style to Andy weir, Please lmk. Both of these were recommended by someone else and I enjoyed them much more than the books I pick out on my own LOL so please share your thoughts
