I had forgot how fun reading was. Just read Dungeon Crawler Carl and want to read similar books in the sense that you can't just seem to put it down. I don't care about genre, please give me your best suggestions that kept you engaged all day and night.

The Heart Goes last my Margret Atwood was so weird and suspenseful I couldn’t put it down.

The Three Body Problem. My husband meant to read the first chapter and ended up reading the first 100 pages in a single sitting

    3. I wouldn’t call it fun but I read all of Wool in one sitting.(tense sci-fi mystery thriller, an entire city living in an 100+ floor silo begins to tip towards chaos after the sheriff breaks their #1 rule: never ask to be let out)

A lot of people that like DCC like: The Murderbot Diaries(lab grown security cyborg goes rogue to save some clients and watch tv), Project Hail Mary(the less you know is better, former academic turned science teacher ends up deeply involved in the mission to save earth after the sun starts going dim), The Black Tongue Thief(a talented but unlucky thief takes one last big job to clear his debt, the audiobook has full musical numbers)

    4. Hannah Kaner’s debut trilogy are an amazing read. Godkiller, Sunbringer, and Faithbreaker. The first one, Godkiller, is my favorite one. I’ve re-read them all a couple of times.

John Scalzi has a lot of standalone novels that are well written and funny – Starter Villain, Red Shirts, Kaiju Preservation Society, and Fuzzy Nation.

If you want a more serious book or a series, try John Scalzi’s The Collapsing Empire, Old Man’s War, or Lock In. These are all the first books in excellent series. While some characters are quite witty, these are not as humorous as the standalone novels but are very good action, sci-fi stories with intricate plots.

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir is wonderful! The Martin is too!

All Systems Red by Becky Chambers is the first book in the Murderbot Diaries. They’re short, fast paced, and witty.

Dennis Taylor’s We Are Legion is the first book in the Bobiverse series.

Last book I read (about a month ago) that made me sad that I had to sleep was *Between Two Fires.* Journey books with good pacing and incremental character development that are winding up to a big finale suck to put down. It’s also the last book I gifted someone.
