Please suggest me a book similar to Sally Rooney’s Normal People

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some contemporary literature with a love story as the main theme that doesn't end with the protagonists together. Best would be that they are young (20ish) and a bildungsroman showing the character's growth. Fantasy or SF doesn't apply, I am looking for english, french authors.
