Ive read books by people who've left cults/fled North Korea, that sort of thing.
But what I really want to read is a book that does a really deep dive into the process of moving from in to out. A few years ago I was gripped by the story about the North Korean ambassador who moved with his family to the UK and defected a few years later. I want to follow the journey from before he arrived through the cognitive dissonance and how he came to make that huge decision. I just think it would be fascinating. Wish I could write it myself.
Is there anything out there that comes close to this?
