Hello, I’d like some recommendations for books.
My interest peaks in
-absurdity
-existential dread much like Franz Kafka
-Dark themes (it can be extreme)
-Questionable protagonists
It can be comedy, but I’d like a book that stays with me for a while.
I’ve read
The trial – Franz Kafka
The portrait of Dorian grey – Oscar Wilde
And some others I can’t recall right now.
I’ve been recommended Animal farm, just haven’t been able to find it yet in my local library.
One of my favorite shows would be
Fleabag
Bojack horseman
Killing eve
Baby reindeer
Thank you for reading!

Based on what you’re into, Camus’ *The Stranger* is probably right up your alley – protagonist who’s morally questionable and the whole thing drips with existential emptiness.
*American Psycho* by Bret Easton Ellis might work too if you want something that’ll stick with you (fair warning, it gets pretty intense with the dark themes). The narrator is absolutely unhinged but written in this weirdly detached way that makes it even more unsettling.
For something with more of that absurdist comedy angle like Bojack, maybe try *Catch-22* by Joseph Heller. It’s got that dark humor mixed with the meaninglessness of bureaucracy that sounds like it’d hit the spot.
