    Hey all!

I'm very new to reddit so I apologize for any mistakes.

With the new movie now out, I (31F) reread Project Hail Mary and then of course had to pick up The Martian again, too. I love sci-fi books but I'm having trouble finding one that isn't based around fantasy and magic. Don't get me wrong, those can be great too, but I love the books that are actual SCIENCE fiction.

Other than hoping to leave the fantasy out of it, I'm not particular on sub-genre. Romance, crime, thriller, any and all of that is great to me. I do lean more toward books directed for mature audiences (no, not smut) so I don't tend to pick up too many YA books but even those I'll give a try.

Does anyone have any good sci-fi book recs without the fantasy aspect (magic, dragons, witches, vampires, etc).

    Thank you in advance!
