Seeking any books that in some way involve nostalgia or (preferably) are set in the 1970s-2010s that have made you feel completely swept up in that time period. Ideally something super atmospheric. I want to feel like I’m sitting on a porch in the summer 20 years ago. Maybe not super applicable to this request, but no sci-fi/fantasy/romance please!
The best examples I can think of would probably be The Shards by Bret Easton Ellis or Rosemary’s Baby. Extremely immersive to the time period, but I’m looking for something a little more descriptive (syrupy really is the only way I can think to describe this).
