I'm looking for a good gripping novel (preferably dark) based in the mid or late 1600s. Bonus points if it can tick some of the following:
– Female protagonist/main character
– Based in England or anywhere in UK.
– Involves the plague at some point in it
– Has some dark psychological themes throughout
– Overall well written and well paced. (I have adhd and find slower paced novels harder to complete lol.)
