So on paper, my life is going really well. I’ve accomplished a big dream of mine (I got to live in Europe for a while), I have a solid job, make good money, am attractive, am healthy, and live in a nice apartment. I have friends, family, and overall stability.

The problem is I don’t feel like my life has any real purpose. It’s weird because I always thought once I got to this point, I’d feel fulfilled or at least like I was working toward something meaningful. Instead, I just feel kind of empty and directionless, like I’m just going through the motions, and I don’t know what I’m actually doing all of this for.

Are there any books that actually help you find a sense of purpose or direction (not just surface-level motivation)?

    Would really appreciate any recommendations!

The House in the Cerulean Sea, not sure how much it will help but it’s sure to cheer you up. It’s a book that highlights what truly matters in life (it’s not about the house you have but the people you share it with).

*Something in the woods loves you* by Jarod Anderson

*Red star over the third world* by Vijay Prashad

    3. A Psalm for the wild built by Becky chambers might be exactly what you’re looking for. It’s about a tea monk who is in your exact situation and looking for answers. And it’s very short, like 120 pages or so.
