Similar to Pachinko but with other countries?

I read Pachinko by Min Jin Lee and this was a masterpiece. It also made me learn so much about korea and Japan. I liked it so much I couldn't put it down and binged in an entire day. I've never read a book for more than 2 hours before, usually I read about 30 mins to an hour a day but this book had me captivated

Is there anything with a story similar to this with happy and sad moments involving other countries? Preferably Europe since Pachinko covered an asian story
