I’m not really a fan of Kings writing style but in these two books I did end up getting attached to these characters and story by the end.
I read them both years ago when I started to read again and still think about them every now and then.
If you haven’t read either of these what I’m really looking for the most are
Secret government or shadow organizations
Human experimentation / testing on people with powers
people with cool abilities
Conspiracy elements and cover-ups
A darker tone but still character-driven
Doesn’t have to be horror specifically—sci-fi or thriller is totally fine too.
Any recommendations that hit some of these themes?
