I’m looking for a fantasy series to get into and could use some recommendations.
As a kid, I absolutely loved Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. I also really enjoyed the His Dark Materials trilogy. Over the past couple of years, I’ve gotten back into reading more as an adult—I even joined Goodreads, which is… honestly kind of overwhelming.
I’m hoping to find a big fantasy series I can really dive into. I’ve read the first two Red Rising books and absolutely loved them, but I wanted to take a break before jumping into the third.
I also read the first Mistborn book. I liked it and will probably continue, but it weirdly felt a little YA to me—I can’t quite put my finger on why. I’d definitely be open to reading more Brandon Sanderson, but I’m also looking to branch out to other authors.
I’ve tried Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses, and I’ve realized romantasy just isn’t really my thing.
One thing I’d especially love is something with a really interesting magic system—bonus points if it has elemental aspects. I was a huge fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, so anything with that kind of vibe would be awesome.
Any suggestions?
