I’m curious about memoirs or essays from actors that go beyond the usual celebrity fluff. Looking for books where you can really get inside their craft, life, or creative process, not just the gossip.

If you’ve read one that felt genuine, insightful, or even inspiring, drop the title. I want something that sticks with you after the last page.

    1. Not an actor but a great director : Sidney Lumet’s book “Making Movies”.

Extremely interesting, on the craft of making movies working with comedians, inspiration, and also how he navigated Hollywood, producers, problems on set…

It’s another point of view than the traditional actor’s memoirs, but I think it can be super educational and interesting, even if you’re not a filmmaker, especially if you watch his movies afterwards.

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. I would recommend the audio book though, he does a great job with the narration.
