I have been a member of my book group for over 30 years. We have read so many wonderful (and some not so wonderful) books – classics, mysteries, contemporary fiction, WWII history, etc. We take turns choosing books to read and I’m up next. I’d love a suggestion for something different that would generate a great discussion. Any suggestions would be welcomed!

    1. The Wizard of the Crow by Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o is a wonderful novel about a fictional African nation with lots of power struggles and intrigue. It is so interesting because there are multiple first person storytellers who are different characters, giving you different perspectives on the same events. There is magic and most importantly romance.

    2. Labbawabbado on

A Short Stay in Hell by Steven L. Peck. Quick and easy read, but surely would lead to some great discussions.

    3. Property of Nobody by Khristina Chess. My book club picked this one last year. It’s fairly recent, and it generated a lot of conversation.
