I’m looking for a novel that really gets into street gangs, not just action but the day to day, the tension, the sense of territory and survival in a city setting. Something that feels grounded and real.
If you’ve read a book that captures that world with strong characters and atmosphere, drop the title.

Check “The Outsiders” if you haven’t already – captures that territory stuff really well, or maybe “Monster” by Walter Dean Myers which gets into the daily grind side of things
You might dig “The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas. It’s got a grounded take on city life and the impact of gangs, with some seriously strong characters. Plus, if you’re into cooking up some eco-friendly meals, maybe try a book-themed dish while you’re at it! 🍜📚
