My two sons (19 and 14) and I are heading to Yellowstone next month for the first time. We will be in the car quite a bit, and I’d love to find an audiobook to accompany us. We are all big readers but with very different tastes, so I’m not looking for a particular style. Just something that feels a match for the majesty of nature or the West or wildlife. A book where geysers play a role? Thanks for any suggestions!

Not on theme, but I did a road trip with my 15yo son last summer and he enjoyed the Dungeon Crawler Carl books I was listening to.

the Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M Auel has a lot of descriptive nature scenes which i found super calming and interesting! There’s also a few books about the wolf packs of Yellowstone that I loved reading. The first one of the series is The Rise of Wolf 8 by Rick McIntyre who was a ranger at Yellowstone during the reintroduction of wolves to the park! A bit more sciency- but super fun because the descendants of these wolves still live in the parks! I hope you enjoy your time at Yellowstone, feel free to reach out if you want recommendations on best wildlife viewing spots – i spent nearly every summer as a child there!
