Probably necessary context?: Third world country, LGBT+ and depressed working uni student. Trying to form new hobbies to distract myself from real life stress and doomscrolling.
I tried with the classics (Orwell, Woolf, Hemingway) but I'm gonna be honest I have a hard time digesting complex writing and I always get distracted 😅
Books I've liked recently:
– Everything from Khaled Hosseini, god I couldn't drop "A Thousand Splendid Suns"!!
– "The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo", liked the drama, romance lacked chemistry…
– All Systems Red. Autistic and OCD coded characters are always relatable. Fun read, but I had a difficult time understanding some science and machine stuff.
Other media I love:
– One Piece
– Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
– Life Is strange
– The Last of Us
– Attack on Titan
– The Walking Dead
– Transformers ONE
I don't have a genre preference, I like things that are exciting, feel human even when they're not, heartfelt or shocking endings, prefer character explorations and group based lore over world building (for example I adore the LOTR movies but I'm struggling to read the books because of the amount of info to remember).
