Books about asylums

I just read Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of books I could read that are based around asylums. Especially if they are historical fiction types. When I tried to google this, it gave me suggestions like The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides (which I’ve read but it didn’t really interest me), and Ward D by Freida McFadden which I also have read and wasted brain power on lol… I have One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest but I haven’t read it yet.

Would just really like some suggestions, even if they’re non-fiction! Thank you so much! 🫶🏼
