I know how to use the Internet for nuts and bolts information about Swedish immigration to Minnesota, but I need help finding good sources for the personal touch. I've already located books for folklore and mythology.
The story is set in a fictional agricultural town in Western Minnesota, which is special due to being a hub for non-human immigration from Sweden. The characters are mostly from two families, one with alfar heritage, and the other, svartalfar; or elves and dwarfs in other terms, but not at all like LotR. The alfar family have been farmers since settling there, and the svartalfar have a history of being craftsmen.
They settled early in the timeline of the state's history, but the lead characters were born in the late 90s. However, things will be a mix of modern and very old school.
Some topics I need:
Swedish-American cultural stuff
Older farm practices (the classic self-supporting does a bit of everything family farm)
Traditional crafts associated with Sweden/Scandinavians
Generally about living and working on the prairie
