Hi everyone,
I have recently obtained the urge to read classic books which are considered as being a “must read at least once in your life” type thing.
I have historically enjoyed non-fiction, especially crime related, I have enjoyed biographies/true stories a lot. So fiction stories are a little out of my usual scope but I have recently read Jurassic Park (Michael Crichton) and Mort (Terry Pratchett), really not my usual type. I’m currently reading 1984 (Orwell) and Reaper Man (Pratchett) and Intensive Care (Gavin Francis). I just have books dotted about the house so I can pick one up wherever I am.
So please tell me, which books would you add to my list, a sort of book bucket list?
Thanks in advance, I’m looking forward to your suggestions.
Edit to add books currently on the list include:
Jaws, Carrie, Thinner, The Shining, Animal Farm and Clockwork Orange. I’ll probably give Crichton’s other works a go too because I really enjoyed Jurassic Park.

Since you’re digging 1984 and coming from true crime, Brave New World and Fahrenheit 451 would probably hit the spot – they’ve got that same dystopian grip but different flavors of control
