I’ve never been much of a reader but now in my mid 20s I’ve started to pick it up again and I feel overwhelmed with all the options/genres! In my childhood I loved Harry Potter, hunger games, divergent, etc. Over the past couple of years I’ve started reading thrillers like the silent patient, gone girl, never lie, the inmate, the perfect marriage, sharp objects, etc. I’m hoping to level up my reading and explore more genres!
Mainly looking for more advanced mystery/thrillers but curious what other books could be good gateways to other genres? I need something that keeps me on the edge of my seat otherwise I’ll lose interest pretty quickly.
Also open to fascinating non fiction books (no self help). I feel like social media and being out of school for so long has dumbed me down and I want to get back into learning! I’m open to stories about women, history, native Americans, or any other topic that’s interesting to learn about!
