Hi I have autism and developmental delays. I dont have reading issues but i struggle with emotional complexity. I am looking for books that dont include things like incredibly traumatic violent or sexuality.
Alot of middle grade books are about things like first crushes and school drama and I dont care about or want to read that.
I really like fantasy themes like princesses and fairies and magic. I like classic books alot that are really focused on world building rather than intense emotional plots. I think I also like books that are just about silly kids and their mischief when its light hearted.
Some books ive really liked are A secret garden, The Little Princess, and Anne of Green Gables. I remember liking Clementine and Beezus and Ramona before alot too. So maybe I could explore more books along that line.
