I want to write a comic series one day, and while I realize I should probably make shorter, smaller series I still truly care about, and I've read various different series within the medium, I realize I also have no clue how to look for books. This has obviously handicapped me in my need to study writing generally, such as a more traditional novel.
So, I want a little help. I want books that are worthy of studying, especially in the fantasy and action genres. In general, though, any help is appreciated!

You might enjoy The First Law series by Joe Abercrombie. Dark, gritty, funny, character-driven fantasy, with great banter/dialogue, and excellent, visceral action scenes. The audiobooks are awesome as well, and really breathe life into the characters, narrated by Steven Pacey. The first book is **The Blade Itself**.
Or check out his latest standalone, unrelated to The First Law, **The Devils**, for a slightly more comedic, but still action-packed, story.
