So I really REALLY love found family. My favourite trope. But it seems far more common in ya, and I’d like an adult book series to sink into.
Here are some found family examples I enjoy:
– the raven cycle
– six of crows
– all for the game
– Star Trek voyager(not a book series , but noteworthy)
I don’t mind if everything is solved at the end by “the power of friendship” as long as the journey is good. I would prefer any romance to be a side plot and not the main plot.
I also like a bit of diversity in my found family. It doesn’t need to look like a university pamphlet w every type of person crammed in, but also doesn’t need to look like a sleeve of crackers. Just some diversity
Sci fi or LIGHT fantasy (I’m not usually super compelled by heavy fantasy – but I could be convinced )
I’m working through discworld which is a series 40+ long so pref whatever you rec is less than 5 books in the series LOL
