Hiya,
I'm looking for some sort of supernatural thriller book where the main character is in danger for whatever reason and is protected suddenly and surprisingly by an animal? A wild bear comes crashing through the woods, a large wolf, a crow who might poke out an eye. They might have met earlier in the book and there was a kindred connection? I've tried searching and can't see anything recommendations for this specific thing, more animal companions.
(this has arose because I'm reading Run On Red by Noelle W.Ihli, the protagonists are in deep danger, there are wolves howling in the distance and I want them to ATTACK but don't think this will end that way.)
