Hello friends! I’m on the search for some sci-fi adventures to immerse myself in. The sheer abundance of novels in this genre is quite overwhelming at times and I don’t know where to start.
I really love books that have likeable, engaging characters that you root for, but an excellently written villain is also wonderful. My favourite books are atmospheric in their depictions of new worlds and lands, and I get so excited when I can imagine myself in these otherworldly places so easily.
Some things I’m NOT interested in – super bro humour tinged books like Dungeon Crawler Carl. I understand so many people love these books and that’s wonderful but they just weren’t my vibe.
I love Doctor Who and am always trying to find books that recreate the camaraderie and campiness of this show, but have still come up short.
Most of my favourite books are women centric, BUT, I can get behind a male lead if he is inherently likeable and interesting and engaging, like the characters in Andy Weir’s books.
Queer stories are always more than welcome as well!
If you could please help in recommending me some books that fit that somewhat vague description I would be eternally grateful.
