I’ve read very few books in my life—maybe around ten—but I want to start reading more to develop my creativity.
I’ve been doing stand-up for a few months, and I’m looking for books that can sharpen not only my ideas but also my writing: sentence structure, phrasing, and punchlines. My comedy tends to explore introspective, philosophical, and social themes, often with a strong sense of cynicism. I’m particularly drawn to dark humor and irony.
I also need something engaging enough to keep me hooked and motivated to keep reading.
Some books I’ve really enjoyed: "The Metamorphosis" and "In the Penal Colony" by Franz Kafka and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
