I am dumb. I want to be less dumb and understand books more. I don't want self help, just books that will make me think but isn't too difficult to figure out. No genres or subjects are off limits.
I loved Metamorphosis and have mixed feelings on House of Leaves (check my post history for more details on that)

Piranesi by susanna Clarke
If you like Metamorphosis check out Kurt Vonnegut books. I adore Kafka and Vonnegut, both absurdist. Faves are Sirens of Titan and Breakfast of Champions. Both beautiful messes, engaging but you’ll have to dig a little to get to the meat of it.
I also suggest Brave New World and Of Mice and Men, books that made me think hard early in my reading career (in case you havent checked them out yet)
