I'm currently looking for comparable titles to include in my fantasy novel submission package and realise all my references are age-inappropriate/too old/outside of my genre.
I am currently describing my book as 'blending the global ecological concerns of The Ministry for the Future with the dreamlike fantasy of Studio Ghibli: a transformative adventure story with a brave and displaced protagonist navigating a hostile world with themes comparable to The Book of Koli and Beyond the Deepwoods.'
Anything more genre-specific and/or recent titles very much appreciated! NB I am still not sure if what I have written is YA or adult fantasy — I tend to read very broadly across different genres so am not deeply immersed in SFF, just love to write in it!
