I've been obsessed with playing my cozy games on my Switch lately, but I want to get back into reading in the evenings. I've been loving to curl up in my cozy little gaming nook with my Switch and play Animal Crossing. I'm looking for that same kind of feeling but in book form if that makes sense lol. I'm pretty open as far as genre. I just want a read that's going to pair well with a fuzzy blanket and a cup of hot chocolate after a long day. Thank you! 🙂

House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Kline. Linus is a caseworker overseeing orphanages for magical children, and he goes to assess a house of children considered unique even by magical standards. Very cozy found family story with a wyvern, a were-pomeranian and possibly the antichrist. There is a sequel but I personally found it extremely preachy and didn’t finish it. The first stands alone perfectly well in my opinion and was very delightful.
The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune is basically Animal Crossing in book form – wholesome magical vibes with found family feels. Also try anything by Becky Chambers, her Wayfarers series has that same gentle worldbuilding energy where nothing too stressful happens but you’re still invested in the characters.
I really enjoyed Homegrown Magic by Jamie Pacton and Rebecca Podos for this. It felt very Stardew Valley with lots of plant magic 🙂
