I was thinking about how sometimes you read a book at the right moment and it just hits differently.

Not necessarily because it’s the best written book ever, but because something about it stays with you and shifts how you see things, even in small ways.

It made me wonder how common that is.

Has a book ever done that for you?

Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari stuck with me for quite a while. Lots of bits of information in there that really stuck around for a long time. I should read that book again.

The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck did that for me. I read it in my mid 20s and it really changed a lot of how I see people and the world. The ending broke me.
