I love the movie SuckerPunch by Zach Synder. I love the way it deals with the trauma this girl is feeling with and how we only get to experience the real work in the beginning and the end of it. I really love the way it has this mental retreat within another mental retreat. It fascinates me.
I just really want to find a book that does that, where the character has real life and then it’s distorted into this mental retreat. And then there’s maybe the third on inside of it all. This feeling with trauma through the metal retreat whole knowing there is still a real world out there but almost staying stuck or purposely keeping yourself in it because it’s a better life. And then the real life comes back still like in ending of sucker punch. Are there books like that?? I would love some recommendations.
