I have a degree in conservation biology and work in conservation so I love all things science and nature. However, being constantly surrounded by it I don’t always want to read nonfiction books on the topic but still want my fiction novels to include heavy nature themes. Where the Crawdads Sing for example is one of my favorites. If anyone can recommend similar books like this I’d really appreciate it!

Maybe something by Gary Paulson? Dogsong is one of my favs but I haven’t reread them as an adult so no promises.
I haven’t read a ton of these but perhaps some Adrian Tchaikovsky would be of interest? He seems to do a lot of sci fi exploring alternative evolutionary paths! Tho they seem to have a bit more darkness/horror than I prefer in my sci fi maybe you’ll enjoy them!!
