Hi! I saw a TikTok the other day talking about how books have moved into ‘fast books’ similar to fast fashion. I’ve realized I’ve fallen victim to this fast fashion/cheap dopamine book hole and desperately want to get out of it. I find myself reading a lot of Colleen Hoover/Elle Kennedy/Emily Henry because it’s an easy and mindless read. Even though I love these books, I want to pick up things that have more literary value. I’ve tried reading some classics but am embarrassed to admit I would give it up because I don’t understand what I’m reading. Please send me some book recs for titles that are interesting and a little more thought-provoking than what’s circling TikTok right now (hopefully this makes sense) Thanks much!
