I just finished Lonesome Dove and I honestly think it's the best book I've ever read. I want to sit with it for a little longer but I think it's going to settle into that top spot.
That said, I need a bit of a palate cleanser book – I imagine anything I try to read of any substance is going to pale in comparison, so I'm looking for something wholly different. Something short, maybe silly and not overly serious – whatever the book equivalent is of a Will Ferrell movie or something in that vein. In the past I've enjoyed Christopher Moore, Confederacy of Dunces (clearly), and some of the better books written by stand-ups (Gary Gulman, Ian Karmel, etc.).
Not a sci-fi, fantasy, or YA guy – open to narrative non-fiction or non-fiction as well. TIA!
