As subject suggests, looking for suggestions of fun to read books with a color in their title. Looking to cross off that square this month for by book club. TIA!

All Systems Red by Martha Wells. This is the first Murderbot book, super fun sci-fi with a lovable cast and is really short so it is easy to breeze through.

The Yellow Wallpaper if you’re interested in something more classic. This is a short story about a woman losing her grasp on reality.

Raptor Red is from the perspective of a dinosaur.

Black Beauty is a classic from the perspective of a horse.

Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe is set in the american southeast and is a charming heartwarming story.

White Fang is a classic from the perspective of a dog.

The Color Purple is an emotionally painful classic that also became a great film.

Anne of Green Gables is a charming coming of age story.

Red, White & Royal Blue, by Casey McQuiston. New Adult romance. The son of the US President falls in love with a British prince. Light, fluffy, entertaining queer romance.

The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant. Historical fiction set in biblical times. The red tent is where the women go when they menstruate, and it is a warm, cozy place where the women talk with each other and bond. The narrator is Dinah, a minor character from the Book of Genesis. I’m not religious but I really enjoyed it as historical fiction. The rest of my book club really enjoyed it too.

The Mighty Red, by Louise Erdrich. Magical realism. I love Louise Erdrich’s writing. She writes about the lives of contemporary Indigenous people in a funny, touching, and powerful way. This one is primarily about a mother and daughter both trying to figure out life and their relationships with each other, their flawed current/past partners, and the natural world.

Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison, by Piper Kerman. Memoir. Yes, it’s the book the TV series was based on. I found it interesting, humane, and thought-provoking.

Red Rising by Pierce Brown. An engrossing YA sci-fi that’s the first in a series. It’s violent though.

John D. MacDonald’s *Travis McGee* series. All 21 of them have a color in the title, such as in the first one *The Deep Blue Good-By*.

    8. The red palace by June Hur. It’s a murder mystery set in 18th century Korea. Really interesting setting and a plot that had me staying up until I finished reading.

    9. Yellowface. The Red Tent. The Woman in White. The Green Mile. How Green Is My Valley. Black Narcissus. Black Beauty. White Oleander. The Yellow Wife. Redfern. The Red Pony.

John P. McDonald wrote the Travis McGee series in which every title features a color. Scarlet, blue, pink, gold, silver, copper, lemon, turquoise, red, tan, brown, lavender, etc.
