I’m having a really difficult time finishing this novel, and I was wondering if anyone thinks it’s worth sticking it out. I’m up to Part 4, which is around 330 pages in. None of these characters are likeable. Jude’s constant refusal to get help, his friends enabling the behavior.. I’ve become desensitized to him cutting himself at this point. I understand he went through a lot, but at what point does a grown adult not consider that their actions are now hurting the people they supposedly love? And someone as smart as Jude, would consider this you think? The only likeable characters at this point are Harold and Julia. It’s really hard for me to DNF a book, especially when I’ve already invested a few hours of reading. If anyone thinks I should stick it out, please let me know, otherwise I might just call it quits.
Also I know what happened to Jude with the brothers, and how he cuts himself. Idk anything else about his trauma yet like how he got hit by the car.
