Like a lot of people, I have become fascinated with space travel since the Artemis II launch, and especially with the people on board and what it takes to be an astronaut. I'm especially interested in learning more about the specific traits astronauts are selected for – resilience, optimism, humility, being able to withstand often life-threatening situations. I was wondering if any nonfiction has been written about the astronaut's mindset, and if anyone could recommend any specific titles?
I am someone who is very anxious and often quite pessimistic, so seeing people who are performing at the absolute peak of what humanity can be is incredibly inspiring to me. I really want to learn to have some of these traits myself!

Endurance by Scott Kelly
An astronauts guide to life on earth by Chris HadfieldÂ
A City on Mars by Kelly & Zach Wienersmith is a fun look at the idea of expanding human civilization to Mars or elswhere. There’s a fair amount about astronaut psychology in it.
