Hey all. Just joined the sub and hoping I can get some suggestions.
A friend has just had surgery and is at home recovering so I thought a good book would help keep their mind focused.
He is in his 50s.
His interests are sport of all kinds, real stories of people overcoming adversity or accomplishing amazing feats.
Loves music. I believe he has read Anthony Kiedis autobiography and really enjoyed it.
Also seems to have an interest in reading about people accomplishing things during modern war times.
Seems vague when I read over my question but hoping some people can throw out a few ideas that I can look into.
Much appreciated.

Boys in the Boat (the book is a zillion times better than the movie)
Life by Kieth Richards
Maybe the first and second Myron Bolitar books by Harlan Coben? Former ncaa basketball star, now sports agent, solves murders/crimes in the sports world/ related to his clients. They are easy and popcorny, but seem like a good fit for your friend.
Born a Crime by Trevor Noah
