I’m interested in a book or two covering the history of colonization and continued exploitation of Africa. Preferably something that isn’t particularly dry. Let me know what’s out there. Thanks!

For the more recent consequences you could read Shake Hands with the Devil by Lt. Gen. Roméo Dallaire, about the Rwandan genocide and the response to it, or lack thereof. Another stomach churner, in addition to being very well written.
