Some books are harder than others to get into, so I was curious what order people would rank their favorite books from easiest to get into to the hardest to get into. 5 being the easiest and 1 being the hardest.
This doesn’t have to necessarily be based off of subject matter, but just the ease at which the reader can understand or comprehend the prose while reading (although subject matter could be a factor as well). Some books you can breeze through while others require your complete attention. Some books you can take a couple days off and come back fine while others will leave you lost if you take a single day away from the story.
I’m not as avid a reader as others, but here’s my ranking:
-
Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
-
The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury
-
Lord of the Flies by William Golding
-
Antkind by Charlie Kaufman
-
Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy
